PRP/PRF Injections

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRF under eye treatments, are a 100% natural way to reduce excess pigmentation, plump up the under eye region, and smooth out crepey skin. Seen as the next level up from PRP treatments, they make use of your body’s own platelets to improve skin tone and texture.

Here’s what happens under the surface after a PRF injection:

  • New blood vessels bring in a fresh supply of nutrients, giving your skin a healthy glow.
  • Toxins, accumulated fluids, and excess pigmentation can all be cleared away.
  • The skin’s metabolism improves. Dead skin cells disappear faster, and unwanted fat cells may burn away to create smoother skin.
  • The collagen and elastin layers are repaired, leading to improved skin elasticity, plumpness, and smoothness.

At RenewMe, we use PRF injections under the eyes to help with dark circles, skin texture, tear troughs, and plenty of other concerns about the under eyes. We also use PRF to treat stomach lines and fine lines in other parts of the face.

Platelet Rich Fibrin is the second generation of autologous treatment and involves the use of your body’s own platelets. The Platelet Rich Fibrin contains very high concentrations of white blood cells, fibrin, and a small amount of stem cells. In this protocol, the platelets attach to the fibrin network and release growth factors responsible for creating new skin cells, collagen, and blood vessels. Once introduced back into the body, the cascade of healing and revitalization begins.

The treatment starts by taking a small amount of your own blood and then processing it in a special low-speed centrifuge.  Thus, this process separates the platelets, white cells, cytokines, and other growth factors.

After the blood draw and centrifugation, the substance is then injected into some area of the skin where the platelets will bind to a scaffold of fibrin. Subsequently, the growth factors are released gradually and slowly for up to one week.

Wait, is PRF the same thing as PRP?

Nope! PRF is a bit like the next level up from PRP. PRF contains a higher concentration and better quality platelets, giving you more rejuvenating growth factors. There are also no anticoagulants or synthetic additives, so the growth factors stay active for longer.

PRF vs. Fillers

PRF is a good option if you prefer a more natural, slow-building approach to aesthetic treatments. They stimulate collagen and jumpstart your body’s natural healing processes. For many of our patients, PRF is a great natural alternative to fillers.

Fillers are a good choice if your main goal is to quickly fill in an area that has lost volume. Neither PRF nor fillers is a better choice — they are simply different approaches. We recommend talking to a provider if you’re not sure which approach is better for your goals.

As a result, PRF under the eye is a very natural treatment that improves under-eye pigmentation, enhances subdermal volume, reduces puffiness, and rejuvenates the delicate thin skin under the eye area. PRF under eyes filler improves fine lines and wrinkles.

After the treatment, it is possible to experience under-eye swelling or slight bruising. It is also possible that you will experience under-eye fullness for 3-5 days before it starts to dissipate. This said, you will notice visible results within the course of 1-2 months, as the structures and collagen under the eye gradually build.

Furthermore, this is a relatively painless procedure and we use the cannula technique for this treatment. If you want a natural and efficient under-eye rejuvenation treatment then look no further.

PRF for Under Eye can help:

  •     Improve the hollowness under the eye;
  •      Tightening loose Skin under the eye;
  •      Reduce dark circles;
  •      Tackle puffiness;
  •    Invigorate Skin’s natural repair processes;
  •    Restore volume;
  •    Get long Lasting Results. Positive effect is visible after few sessions and can last up to 18-24 months.

Treatment time: 60 minutes
How often: 4 to 6 weeks intervals.
Downtime: Temporary light bruising and swelling possible for few days. Usually, 2 to 3 days but could be less or more depending on each individual.

We recommend a series of at least three PRF treatments approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart for better results.
Yearly maintenance is also recommended (one session).

What is PRF injection under the eyes?

So, PRF stands for Platelet Rich Fibrin and is derived from your own blood. The solution contains a concentrated mix of fibrin, growth factors, and white blood cells. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) under-eye is a method that uses platelets and other growth factors found in the body. Indeed, PRF includes a high concentration of different cytokines that aid in tissue regeneration and stem cell repair.

When we inject the PRF into the targeted areas, we can stimulate the natural healing process. As a result, PRF can improve skin tone, texture, and volume.

How is the Platelet-Rich Fibrin eye procedure?

Immediately before your treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn and placed into a specialized centrifuge that separates PRF from red blood cells. The end result is your unique PRF.  The solution is then injected into the desired area. Once injected, the platelets bind with the fibrin scaffold, releasing growth factors as the PRF is activated. The healing process begins. This helps create new collagen production, skin cell growth, and blood vessel to develop.

In a way, think of PRF injections as your unique, personal, natural skin rejuvenation serum.

What Causes Sunken Eyes?

As the body ages, multiple factors cause sunken or hollow eyes. Inevitably, the body will lose bone density and fat in the face, reducing the structure support. A reduced amount of collagen results in the skin becoming thinner. This is part of the natural ageing process, and topical creams will simply not work. Here, enters PRF treatment to help sunken-looking eyes.

What Causes Dark Circles?

Dark circles refer to visible darker pigmentation of the infra-orbital areas.  This condition makes people look tired and can affect emotionally people. Even though it is more a cosmetic concern rather than a medical one, it still affects millions of people of both sexes across the world.  Dark Circles touches people of fairer and darker skin.

 Potential factors that contribute to dark circles include:
– excessive pigmentation,
– shadowing due to tear troughs,
– fat herniation,
–  shadowing due to skin laxity and wrinkles,
– Translucent thin skin.

What are the benefits of PRF under-eye?

PRF candidates are seeking smoother, younger skin in particular under the eyes area. PRF has been shown to provide rejuvenating effects for the skin by boosting collagen production and improving skin elasticity.

Specifically, PRF injections are great for soft facial tissue such as the delicate skin under the eyes. An injection of PRF to the eye hollows can improve skin texture and tone plus reduce fine lines. Initially, the injection improves pigmentation and even acts as a temporary subdermal volumiser.

The fact is that the under-eye skin is among the thinnest on the body and most delicate. Thus, it is often the first area to show signs of ageing, and PRF injections can tighten loose under-eye skin and rejuvenate this delicate area in a natural way.

What to expect during this under-eye treatment?

In general, the sessions are quite simple and last for approximately 45 minutes. This includes a topical numbing cream time, drawing of the blood,  the PRF extraction, and finally injections.

Is there any downtime?

You should expect light bruising and swelling for a few days. It is always better to plan ahead if you have any events or trips and want to look your best.

Pre-procedure recommendations

  •  Avoid blood-thinning medications 3 days or more before the procedure;
  •  Also, you should avoid alcohol 48-72 hours prior to your treatment.

How long do PRF eye injections last?

Because the PRF under eye treatment kick starts the natural regenerative process within the body, the results can last a very long time. Though, it also varies from person to person given our different skin conditions and needs.

The great news is that PRF naturally encourages collagen production, prolonging the benefits for several months.

Do I need a PRF maintenance session?

You do not have to. Though, like any injection, we advise one maintenance per year for lasting results. Generally speaking, PRF maintenance is only every 8 to 12 months.

How many sessions of PRF under-eye should I have?

We usually recommend three sessions to get better results, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. This said you can also have one session of PRF for the under-eye. Ultimately, it also depends on your condition and desired outcome.
